Our Vicar Writes

Dear Friends,

As I write this I am only two weeks ‘into the job’ and it has been a real delight to see all the different activities and people that make up the life of the Church. It has been a privilege to meet up with the many schools in the Parish and see what challenges they are facing as well as future opportunities of working together.

St Margaret’s has a long history of being involved in the lives of people in and around Rainham and the building itself testifies to the fact. One of the things I would like to do in the next couple of months is undertake a audit of St Margaret’s. This will give me and the rest of the church time to reflect on what has happened in the past, take stock of where we are now and then start thinking about our next steps. The audit will have several elements to it including a survey, group meetings and the gathering of factual data. James and I will then pull all of this together over the summer ready to present it to the PCC in September so that we can prepare a plan which will be presented to the wider Church in October.

Please do engage in the audit as much as you can as I really do want to capture the richness of St Margaret’s and get a sense of where God may be calling us to next. If you have any questions about this then please do not hesitate to contact me or say hello as I work my way round the various groups in the Parish.

With prayers and good wishes,

Nathan
