Your child is precious to you and precious to God. You want the very best for them, and so does God. You want them to make right choices in life, for themselves and for others.

A christening (also known as a baptism) is just the beginning of this and so much more.

What is a Christening?

During a christening the vicar will welcome everyone to the service, there will be bible readings and promises made by the parents and godparents. Your child will be signed with special oil and baptized with water.
The vicar says “…I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
After this prayers will be said for the child and a candle given to represent God’s light.
It’s the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family.
