Praise the Lord & Raise the Roof!

The Vicar and Churchwardens are delighted to announce that work has begun to repair the roof of St. Margaret’s Church! As a result of the hard work of the roof committee, the generous donations of the people of Rainham, and a grant from English heritage, we now have sufficient funds to carry out the work. The work will take 6 months, and is due for completion at the end of October 2009.
Go to our Restoration Update pages for the latest news on the progress.
Read on for arrangements during the work.

The work will take place in the main nave of the church and above the office, leaving the north aisle, chapel, and chancel open for use. The Church organ has been dismantled and stored for the duration of the project. The Celure will be renovated where it is.  During the work, the Church office will be based up in the Millennium Centre from Tuesday to Friday. The Millennium Centre will be used for Sunday Services. Our monthly all-age service on the first Sunday of the month will take place at St Margarets school in Orchard St. We hope you will join us in thanking God that we can now carry out this essential work, and will continue to pray for the project and for the church, as it progresses!
